Hydra
The picturesque cosmopolitan island of Hydra is located in the south of the Argosaronic Sea, opposite Metohi, Ermioni and Spetses. Excursions to Hydra are interwoven with wonderful walks in the picturesque harbor, clear blue waters, magical views of the Aegean and of course delicious traditional food. The water corners are fascinating.
The pretty cobbled streets, the bougainvillea flowered houses, the well-preserved stone mansions, built amphitheatrically under the bare rocks, along with the tourist shops, jewellers, restaurants and nice cafes, the boats, the sailboats, the big yachts and the shops with a special aesthetic make up the image of the port of Hydra.
A typical example of traditional Hydra architecture, it attracts attention from any point of the island no matter where you see it. It was built at the end of the 18th century, at the time of Hydra’s economic boom and naval superiority. In the mansion of this important political figure of modern Greece, important consultations were held on issues of the Revolution of 1821 and influential personalities of the time, Greeks and foreigners, were hosted. / About 2 hours in total.
